Marked as Seaman Gunner. Killed when SS Renfrew was sunk by enemy on 24/2/1918. SS Renfrew was a 3830 ton cargo steamer which was torpedoed by U91, 8 miles SW of St Anns Head in the Bristol Channel while on passage from Bilbao to Barrow with a cargo of iron ore. 40 men including the master were lost.
